Process for Requesting a Referee

Submit a Contact Form (Click Here to Access). You will receive an invitation to Arbiter within 48 hours.
Create an Arbiter account and submit matches (Click Here For Instructions)
For tournaments, please add a note to the request that includes
- Level of the matches
- Total number of matches
- Length of matches
- Number of fields
Ensure your invoice is paid immediately upon receipt.
Contact your assigned Referee no later than 3 days before your scheduled match to confirm details. Please include the following details for your referee:
- Location
- Kickoff time
- Parking and Bathroom situation
- Phone number of someone responsible at the pitch
- Jersey colors for each team

If you have not confirmed with your referee or contacted the referee assignor 72 hours before KO, the referee may be assigned to another match.

Deadlines

Fall 2025:
Full Season Scheduled Matches: 7/20/2025
Additional September Matches: 8/20/2025
Additional October Matches: 9/20/2025
Additional November Matches: 10/20/2025

Matches will be assigned in the following order:
1st – Matches submitted prior to Season Deadline
2nd – Matches submitted prior to monthly deadline
3rd – Matches submitted after monthly deadline, but with more than 10 days notice*
4th – Matches submitted with 10 days or less notice*

*Except in cases of playoffs where it is not possible to provide more advance notice

Match Fees

Billing: Invoices will be sent out prior to the start of season, and then monthly for additional matches. Invoices must be paid prior to the match. Referees cannot be provided to clubs with unpaid invoices.

* B-side matches will be charged at a 20% discount. A “true B-Side” match is defined as the B-sides of the same two teams who played in the A-side match. Different division or grade games of a club played against different opponent clubs are not considered to be B-Side matches.

Non-Standard Length Matches: 15s matches that are are scheduled with as less than full-length matches and 10s matches scheduled to run more than 20 minutes total will be billed at the following rates: $200 minimum + $2.50/minute > 70 minutes

Tournaments: A competition greater than 5 games is a tournament. There is a mandatory $150 referee manager fee for tournaments. A tournament schedule should be provided to the Referee Assignor no later than 5 days prior to the tournament.

$50 fee for each day the schedule is delayed
$100 charge for any changes to the schedule within 24 hours of the tournament
$50 for any teams that are added to the tournament after the schedule is submitted, and the match fee will be doubled for each game the additional team(s) play.

Late Fees: While The Referee Society will always make a good faith effort to provide referees, matches added after the monthly deadline may not be covered. If a referee can be found, the following late fees apply:

$100 for matches submitted with less than 10 days notice*
$200 for matches submitted with less than 5 days notice

* Except in cases of playoffs where it is not possible to provide more advance notice

Cancellations: If a match has been cancelled less than 24 hours before kickoff, your club will be charged the full match fee.
